Colt is going through a hitting stage. We are trying to nip this in the bud so the other day when he took a swing at me, Brandan immediately swooped him up and put him in his room. A minute or so later, Brandan brought Colt back out of his room and up to me. "Now give Momma a hug", Brandan said. Colt may be a hitter, but he is still pretty sweet. So, with his eyes still red from crying, he gave me a big hug. Then Brandan said, "Say, 'Sorry, Momma'". He was telling Colt what to say to me, but that is not what Colt heard. Instead, he pulled away from he, crossed his arms, cocked his head to the side and frowned reproachfully while he waited for me to apologize.
Early last week Brandan came down with a horrible cold. He was feverish and sniffling and coughing all the time. The boys were very sympathetic; Dash even prayed that Daddy would get better. Well, after a couple of days, Brandan did start to feel better. Then on Sunday, the rest of the family came down with the cold. After spending most of the day coughing, Dash turned to Brandan Sunday evening and, almost sarcastically, he asked, "So how did you stop coughing, Daddy?" Brandan thought a moment and then honestly answered, "I don't know how I stopped coughing, buddy." Then Dash squared up to his Dad and said very accusingly, "Well, I do. You gave your cough to me!"
